PERSONAL + CREATIVE
Information experience design is at the core of my scholarly and professional work, and this obsession with how we organize, store, and convey information also informs my personal projects. For me, art, design, and poetics offer a means of grappling with the experiences elided or rewritten through structural modes of encoding information, many with colonial, racist, and gender-normative legacies.
My personal creative work has included: a poetic-visual atlas of Bushwick, Brooklyn; a digital magnetic poetry interface that allows users to remix social media data abstracted from Cartesian geography; interactive digital archives tracing community histories; experimental poetry generators; and speculative interface designs. These projects create space for me to imagine resistant methodologies that embrace mess, affect, and materiality.
